The Project
Journalist Geri Throne got in touch with us on completion of her historical fiction novel, Secret Battles, to propose we work together on a cover design. The book, which follows the trials of a young couple separated by WWII, and their correspondence over those years, needed a cover that conveyed the tone and gravitas of the work. We couldn’t wait to get stuck in!
Geri was a wonderful collaborator, one of those authors who knows exactly what she wants and has the ability to convey it well. It didn’t take long before we had the final design nailed down. The muted colors of a war-torn era, as well as a hint of romantic loss between the letter-writing couple, really delivered a visual expression of the story.
Geri also engaged us to build a website, with a blog, for her to use as a promotional tool for the book and its subject matter.
The Client
Succeeded beyond my expectations
I couldn’t be more pleased with the service I received from Richard. He was professional and extremely reliable in setting up my web page and keeping it current with new postings. Because he also is creative and an excellent communicator, he succeeded beyond my expectations in designing the cover for my novel. He listened carefully to what I wanted the cover to convey and made sure I was completely satisfied. I highly recommend Richard to anyone looking for a cover design or website.
